Yesterday, was the last day we could safely skate the ice on the channels in my old home town... So we did, it was 15 years ago we could that, we packed up the kids and rode the shoes with iron knifes under them...

Woke up Saturday after it had been snowing Friday... Locally we had bloody minus 12 degrees Celsius during the night... So frozen trees and beautifull counrty sights... The only thing I could do was getting my hands dirty again and catch some moments...

Yesterday morning OMW to work, slippery roads... Taking it very easy, I came to a T-crossing which looked like an icetrack...
Gently I operated the rear brake and by the touch of my foot, the rear wheel started to slide side ways... Like in the pica above I started sliding over the crossing...
Thank god there is an unpaved entrance to a recreation area parking, so I could come to a stop there...
I didn't yell or scream, I kept my cool...

For two days, the original keys to The Young Geisha had a little vacation... I couldn't find them and that drove me mad... Asking the kids if they had played with them... Turning over every dumpster, twice... Searching every room, bag jacket jeans I could lay my hands on...

Finally, checking the corner with jackets again, third time, laying on my tummy on the floor... From the corner of my eye I saw the buggers hanging between the bottles of wine laying there...

For you who don't know; Honda has a chip in their ignition keys which is checked every time you start the sickle, the H.I.S.S. Honda Ingnition Security System... Expensive to order a new key...!
Thank god I found the little buggers again...

This morning I had a very close encounter with a taxi... The blind 50+ year old bitch didn't give way whilst I was on the main road and coming from her right... On the crossing she also had to cross a cycling lane, what if one was biking there at that time...
With block front and rear wheel I cound nearly prefent an accident, all she did was a watery excuse me hand after I horned the hell out of her and made sure she didn't mis understood me...

This morning, commuting to work on my Young Geisha, it was just another rainy morning... Halfway to Amsterdam I felt a nasty cold and wet sensation creeping up my legg... My waterproff and protective gear suddenly wasn't that waterproof anymore... The cold water creeped trough a seem in the pants to the inside, where my jeans were... Making it's way trough the denim fabric working it's way towards my undies...
Not long after that a cold and wet feeling got hold of my scrotum...

Man, that is not the feeling I'm looking for... Warn and wet, ok... But this is really nasty... After setting up some stuff at work, I ran out to get some dry gear... Now I have some spare for the way home... ha ha ha...

Yesterday for my work I had to go and work on location at a customer... To my surprise the location was next to an old WW2 camp... This camp was used to ship prisoners from to other concentration camps like Auswitz etc. The old camp is now an adjucation site, place of rememberance... I had to make this pica... Later that day I went back with my cam and also went to the Russian war graves around the corner...

Using my old school little oil pump (comes from my late father's garage) to lubicate the new speedo cable, the old one broke two years ago...!!!

Here we are new cable in place, no - did not loose the ring nut of the cable attaching the cable to the speedo..., cloth to prevent loosing the little moonshape rings underneath the speedo... Re-instal the dash, oil in the cyclinders, turn the engine over a couple of times, re-instal the spark pluggs and fire her up... Oooh yes, she loved it...

This weekend, the mrs and me, stayed in Bergen aan Zee, The Netherlands... Just a long weekend quality time together... We found out that in the village 4 km's down the road used to be a WW2 German Luftwaffe airfield... It seemed that the whole area was bombed to yingyang and back during WW2. We also found out that the airmen who lost their lives, getting shot down in that area, where buried in that village... So that Saturday we went to pay our respects to these guys... Ages: 20 - 22 - 26 not older then 30... Nationalities: Canadian, American, Polish, New Zealanders and Australian... In total about 250 airmen are burried there... I still thinks it's remarkable that a 22 year old kiwi wants to fight on the other side of the world to liberate people... Thank you guys...

Had a strange electric problem... Tail light didn't work anymore... Checked the fuses, ok... New bulb (take off the seat and do your best to get to it...) Normal light works, brake light didn't... Mmmm...
Looking for the brake light switch... Appeared that a spring which connected the rear brake pedal and the brake light switch was loose... Fucking around to get it back on again and re-adjust the hight of the switch to make it work ok again... All and all it took me about two hours, including running to the store to get the bloody bulb...

Yesterday Elmo, Ed and me visited the annual Motorcycle trade show in Utrecht, The Netherlands... In motorcyclists world this is the trade show that announces the beginning of the season... Loads of sickles and loads of people... Seemed family of mine was running around as well... Sister, B.I.L. and niece looking for bikes... Sounds good to me... Let's ride...!!!

Yesterday, the whole afternoon the fire was buring... On my way home I had to take a detour (normally I ride under the wind mills in the pica) and had a great view on the situation...
This was a case of burning cacao and burning rubber in a storage... Sutuated on the... >> Latex road... ha ha ha... Must have been a very hot party there...

It was about time she got a bath... She was dirty, she stank and people wouldn't give her a second look... I really felt sorry for her... Giving it all she got through wind and weather, the cold and the dirt of the Dutch roads... But now finally it was the right temp outside to give her her well deserved bath... Gettingmyhandsdirty and getting The Young Geisha clean and lubed again...

Today, on my way home, I had another narrow escape... I think she was talking to much to her invant next to her, 'cause she totally ignored me whilst she was making a u-y (u-turn)...
Stupid woman, open your bloody eyes and pay attention to the bloody road...

Thank god I was not riding the Old Gall but the Young Geisha...

Last year when my daughter was 6, she drew this very cool yellow pick-up/ute... Me says; Chip Foose, Jesse James; be aware she's on her way... Just a couple of years and then... eat your hart out...! This is ofcourse this weeks Sunday Special... by far.

It's not only Queensland Australia that has water problems (lower pica)... but the Netherlands (upper pica) are coping with to much water also, again...

(Un)Cool act of jealousy...

This morning I had an encounter with a jealous Seat Leon driver... I think he couldn't handle that I can put my Young Geisha in front of cars at traffic lights... At one traffic light he was the first car, I just rode up to the front and took pole position...
Five traffic lights later I was the first again... waiting for the light to get green a couple of cars stopped behind me, the first one was the white Seat Leon simular as the one above (just putted his license plate in there...) and after a minute he gently bumped into my rear wheel...
No damage done, but just to let me know... Waved his hand up to apologise... yeah right...
No worries mate!
Don't get mad, get even... (waiting for his home adress and further details at the moment...)

So if you are in the Amsterdam area: be carefull around a white Seat Leon with the license plate...
