Cool prison...

Cool prison...
A couple of months ago I got the opportunity to walk around, with my camera and 11 other photographers, in the beautiful empty prison in my home town. Even the famous Dutch resistance hero Hannie Schaft has been kept locked in here by hte Germans in WW2. I have been biking past this building since I was born. For years now there are no prisoners kept in there anymore and it's been used to house refugees and now it's totally empty.
They are planning to create an university in there, after adjusting the inside of the building. The accoustic in the center of the main hall is really crazy, it would drive many man crazy being kept prison there. Even the guards needed rest after their shift. One guard would sit in his car for half an hour enjoying the silence, before driving home to his family. I just love this building.

Cool recycling...

In France, on our way home, we stayed the night in a hotel after riding 500 kilometers that day. The lobby of that hotel was filled with 'recycle-art'. Oil drums transferred into seats, bicycle double folded and sprayed silver as a side table. Here you see the re-use of traffic signs, build into a table on wheels.

Cool building...

Last night I visited one of my company's  client's office warming in this building. I visited this building (formal sugar cane storages, converted into offices) before to take pictures of it and again now I could not resist to catch them on my internal sd-card of my smartphone...

Cool hidden treasures...

Holiday season is always a good time for me... Always finding hidden treasures somewere... This time it was right under my nose, behind the barn on the campsite... Three cars about to be taken over by nature... One of them, this nice Fiat truck...

Cool new challenges...

Here ya have it... Started my own company designing and creating presentations in PowerPoint and Keynote... Next to that I do some dtp work as well...

Here is a very cool pica of a cool dude, a hero to me... Close to liberating the Netherlands this pica is taken in the South of the country... Young men risking their lifes to come over and fight for our freedom, from all over the world young men (and women) left their homes and came to side of the world to liberate us from nazi Germany...
Every year we remember the ones who didn't live to tell... Foreign soldiers but also the countries heroes from the resistance... The next day, May 5th, we celebrate our freedom...
A big thank you to all of them fighting for our freedom...

Last ride of the season...?

Yesterday, the wife and the kids went to do their own thing... I got on The Old Gall and rode around our province/state for a couple of hours... Enjoying the good weather and the wind in my face...
This might have been the last ride of the season (on this sickle - commuting is done on the new Young Geisha, the black Honda Varadero)... I got as North as possible (me thinks) in the state without taking the boat to the Northen island...

(barelly being legal, one meter futher and I would be in trouble... not...)

Cool castle, part 1...

A week a go we went to Denmark and visited a castle. They had a big collection of firetrucks, cars, mopets, planes, helicopters and motorcycles as well...
Here is one for ya, they found in a shead and brought it back to life in a vew hours after 54 years...!!!

Cool finished Project 346...

Here ya go...! Friday, after work, scored the brown grips and saddle...
Ran into the shed and replaced the old ones with the new ones... Placed the Mecster on a chair have him keep his eyes closed and... taraaaaaa!!!! Open your eyes...
Here is your new bike son... Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow...

Then his sister came home (it's her old bike): Wooow Mec, that is a veeerrryyy COOL bike...!!!

Cool bike, under construction - cont'd...

Up-date:
Yesterday afternoon, on my way back home from work, I stopped at 'The Chopperdome' in Amsterdam... A bicycle shop with veeeeerrrryyyy cool bikes and bike stuff... You can spend a load of euro's there...!!!
Purchased the (mini) ape hanger for the bike project, on the receipt 'project 346' was their adm number... Maybe we can call this the 346 project or just project 346...

So, applied the flame stickers and then took the old handle bars off and installed the ape hanger.
Still in search of the brown saddle and grips...
(Was thinking of a small round mirror as well, when I was young I thought that was uber cool to have on your bicycle... and a little bell of course...)

At the Harley dealer I visited last Saturday, they had a cool Sportster Fourtyeight with some nice goldflake flames on the tank... Nice scooter for the misses me thinks...

On the wall in the back of the store they had glue-on-grip end caps... Very nice instructions/warning...

Cool infection memories...

Back in the early eighties or late seventies, my youngest sister cam home with Easyriders magazine... That time the first Lowride Sturgis came out, it was love at first sight... Ever since that day, I was about 9 or 10 years old, I knew one day I would ride my own Harley...
Fourteen years later, I did...

David Mann's art was one the most impressing things I saw in Easyriders magazine, just love that man(n)'s artwork... The pica above was in that time in the mags... I was blown away by this pica... Thank you mister Mann, respect...!!

Cool run...

From two weeks before - till the start of this run, I will be around the corner on the campsite with the Mrs and the youngsters... With the family car ofcourse... bummer... seems like I'm gonna mis a good oportunity to visit this event... or... mmm maybe, just maybe...
Leave the wife and the kids at the campsite and go there with a visiting friend... ha ha ha that sounds like a pretty bloody damned good idear to me...

Cool findings...

This summer we will be going to France for our summer's holiday... Seems that in the area we're going to barn/shead/garage findings like these above are no exemption... Will take the cam with us and keep you posted if we find any... Would be great wouldn't it?
