(Un)Cool act of jealousy...

This morning I had an encounter with a jealous Seat Leon driver... I think he couldn't handle that I can put my Young Geisha in front of cars at traffic lights... At one traffic light he was the first car, I just rode up to the front and took pole position...
Five traffic lights later I was the first again... waiting for the light to get green a couple of cars stopped behind me, the first one was the white Seat Leon simular as the one above (just putted his license plate in there...) and after a minute he gently bumped into my rear wheel...
No damage done, but just to let me know... Waved his hand up to apologise... yeah right...
No worries mate!
Don't get mad, get even... (waiting for his home adress and further details at the moment...)

So if you are in the Amsterdam area: be carefull around a white Seat Leon with the license plate...

We had a New Years walk around my inlaws house and passes this old rail road track... They're gonna rip it out and make a direct bus connection, a concrete bus lane free of cars...
This looks like the end of the line to me... By the way; it runs next to the local cemetary as well...

The woman of the little flower shop in front of the building I work in (she rides as well): "You are so brave (or crazy) to ride in this weather..."
Yeah it was a bit nippy and slippery but we made it to work and back in one piece... The fallen snow now turned into plaques of ice on sidewalks and roads... Mmm..., always keep your cool...!!!

So, last Friday... No busses in Amsterdam, had to walk to catch a tram towards Central Station... Total chaos @ Central Station... Found a train that was going towards I wanted to go...
Arriving @ Haarlem Station... Chaos... No busses, heavily snow... Had to walk home...
After a hour of trying to make my way home trough the bloody snow, I arrived home finding The Young Geisha looking different then that morning...
I'm in need of some warm summer weather..., had enough of the freaking bloody snow...!!!

Total choas on the Dutch roads... seems that public transport in Amsterdam is down... Looks like I'm walking back to train station (approx. over an hour) and then I'll have to see if the trains are still riding...

Cool Young Geisha...

The girl from Nippon has a little winters break... Going nowhere... Roads slippery like speed skating ovals in the morning, wet in the afternoons and frozen again during the evening/night... Bugger mate!... Damned public transport...

Due to the weather, frozen side walks and streets, I had to take the public transportation to work... Traveling through a small world (very foggy!), to work takes me three times longer then when I take The Young Geisha there... Here is a foggy pica of the building I work in...
Whilst I was sitting in the bus and looked outside, these words came up: 'Fogging hell mate!'

Cool reminder...

Yesterday, in Amsterdam, it started snowing around 15:00 o'clock... I left the office around 17:00 and rode home on The Young Geisha... Very slippery, I can tell you...!
Riding not faster than 50/60 km/hr and slowing down for bends in the roads... Two feet on the ground as I had to take 90 degree turns... Specially the last km's home where the slipperiests, no salt on the roads and streets... And when I arrived home I gently used the rear breack but the wheel blocked as soon as I touched the brake pedal... Sideburning towards the house... ha ha ha...
So I had a good lesson: 'Snow and two motorised wheels don't really go good together...' But I made it...!

Made me think of an earlier post, another cool story:
My parents apparently are some motorcycling pioneers over here in The Netherlands… My father and one of his brothers used to own a 98cc motorcycle and later (after ’56-’57) these two brothers both owned a identical 350cc Jawa. Proudly my mom tells me: “Theirs did 49 km’s a liter of gasoline, ours did 50"The tradition is that on January 1st you visit your family and in laws to bring them your New Year whishes in person. It must have been January 1st 1955, I guess, my parents were dating at that time and my father came to pick-up my mother at her parents where she was living still. He came to pick her up to go to his parents… on a 98cc motorcycle. The last days and the last night it had been snowing so the streets and road were very slippery. Not a lot of people had enough money to buy a car and especially these days, with the snow, people used the public transportation. On the corner of a street there was a bus stop, totally packed!! My parents came to that corner on their bike and the only thing my father said to my mother was: “Whatever happens, don’t scream or yell.” My mother proudly tells me: “I didn’t yell”

So my father in these days already understood that:
Whatever happens; always keep your cool!

Cool cold weather...

This morning when I rode my Young Geisha to work, I did n't see any other motorcyclists... Maybe that was because of the weather... It almost felt like riding to the North Pole...
Outside temp was -2 degrees Celsius, whilst riding it felt like -13 degrees... Freaking cold I can tell you... Thank god for the cold weather clothing...! But... where was everybody on two wheels...??? Pussies!!

Finally, after two years it stands... a cool additional shead in the backyard...
Together with my ink-filled friend Pat we build this little sweathole in one Saturday... Still have to do some finishing-up and then clean out the old one... Make room for the Old Gall...

Cool in-home wrenching...

Last week in the evening the outdoor temprature was around 1 degree Celsius... Very foggy, foggy hell mate!... Ha ha ha... anyways, front brakes where sticking and I really had to get my hands dirty... So I told the misses I was doing some work in the livingrrom... ha ha ha... They seemed to be so serious sticking like sticky tape... after one evening from 20:30 till 23:00 of hardcore brake cleaning, ...they still stuck... Next day took teh bike to the local bike shop and they had the right tools to finish the job...
Instead of sqeezing the juice out of a street brick, I can brake with only the slightest touch of my index finger... Ooowh, sexy...!

Cool new television season...

Last night, as me being a biker, had a good night... First, on the same channel, we kicked off with Ghost Rider... Nice movie about the legend of Ghost Rider and evil spirits and so on... I was a bit disapointed with the 'super hero style' way Johnny rode his chopper upwards along the side of a building... Bummer...

Right after Ghost Rider, without commecial break, we rode into a Quinten Tarantino's movie called Hell Ride...

Nice movie (first used song made me think of Pulp Fiction!), nice bikes...

I think I saw a Exile bike in there ridden by the leader of the six six sixers...

It actually is gonna be a good winter... This Sunday we'll kick off with a double episode of Sons of Anarchy... I will be on the couch from 21:45 till 23:45 or so...
